The documentation published by the British media giant BBC was shocking for Georgian society and, in turn, gave rise to a troubling question: were we really poisoned? Questioning the credibility of the information presented is difficult; however, considering the case involving Donald Trump, there remains a possibility that not everything is entirely accurate. Nevertheless, the behavior of the Georgian government—or more precisely, its attempt to evade responsibility—only reinforces the opposite conclusion.

The silence of “Georgian Dream” and its groundless, superficial arguments resemble excuses rather than genuine reasoning. Consequently, any attempt to discredit the BBC only strengthens the already well-founded suspicion that a government clinging to power resorted to old, “time-tested” methods to suppress protests and used toxic substances against the Georgian population.

“Were we poisoned?”—this episode seeks to explain the details of the BBC investigation to listeners and determine where the truth lies.

The story of the so-called “Arab investments” has sparked intense public controversy in Georgia. Despite public demands to disclose the classified clauses contained in the agreement, the government limited itself to vague statements and superficial explanations. Once again, it redirected accusations toward supposedly destructive “foreign” forces and persistently continued to promote the alleged benefits of the so-called “Arab investments.”

To support this narrative, government representatives visited a similar construction project in Belgrade and attempted yet again to mislead the public—claiming that the development project had brought Serbia an additional 9 billion dollars to its economy, when in reality the figure was only six million. Despite this and many other manipulative attempts, public dissatisfaction did not subside.

In this video, the author examines the government’s tactics of concealing key facts surrounding the so-called “Arab investments” and justifying its decisions.
